Charlotte Talks

One of my favorite parts of having a toddler is listening to all of the funny little things that Charlotte says. Sometimes what she comes up with is full of imagination, sometimes she asks pretty deep questions ("who is God?"), and sometimes she gets her words and phrases mixed up.

My favorite mispronunciation has always been how she called herself "Sha-Shee" when she couldn't say Charlotte. I really, really miss hearing herself call herself Sha-Shee - how cute is that?!

But she also used to call ice cubes "cools." She'd point to the freezer & ask "cool? cool?"

And the way she put an extra syllable in octopus - - "oc-o-to-pus"

And the way she called Santa "Ho ho ho" through two Christmases

And the way she's called a heartbeat a "heart beep" every since she became interested in doctors and checkups before her 2nd birthday.

And now, if she heads upstairs in front of me, she calls behind "Try to catch up on me!"

A few weeks ago, we were pretending to be different animals and this exchange took place:
Charlotte: "Guess what I am! Ribbit ribbit!"
Me: "You're a frog! Guess what Natalie is. Caaaw! Caaaw!"
Charlotte: "She's a mohawk!!"

I know I won't remember all of these funny little things the girls say through the years, but I do hope I remember to write a few down from time to time so I can look back on them in the future. :o)
