A few weeks ago, we saw some singing corn robots at Rader Farms. At the time, Natalie really did not care for them - - she even asked to sit somewhere else while we were having a snack so she wouldn't be close to them.
She must have changed her mind about the singing corn somewhere along the way, though, because she's been singing their song ever since!

Eat the corn slow
Eat the corn slow
Don't eat it fast

And, just since I think it's adorable, here is my first attempt to get her to sing for the camera. Daddy came home right as she was starting and the excitement on her face is just SO CUTE!!

Cool Cat
Charlotte was her class's "Cool Cat" this week. She got to make a poster about herself and fill a box with items that tell about her. Her teachers said she did very well telling her friends all about herself and the items she brought! She even read Fox In Socks to them!
1. Post card from her Aunt Bob who lives far away in India & sends mail from all over the world.
2. Elsa doll since Frozen is her favorite movie and her best friend Ian gave it to her.
3. Football from the Homecoming Parade
4. Paintbrush since she loves to paint and wants to be an artist when she grows up.
5. Fox In Socks (Cat in the Hat wouldn't fit in the box, so she brought another Dr. Seuss book)
6. Her favorite rock from her rock collection her Grandpa helps her with.
7. Microphone since she loves to sing.
I'm so proud of my Cool Cat!!

Learning to Read
Charlotte has been able to sound out simple 3-letter words for close to a year now, but hasn't really been too enthusiastic about learning to read. Until recently!
Some mom friends recommended the BOB Books beginner readers, so I picked a set up last week at Barnes & Noble. We sat down together in the store to try the first book in the series and Charlotte liked it! As soon as we got home, she asked to read another! She's read the first 5 so far and is excited to keep going through the box. I like that they use the same characters through the series, sight words are added very gradually, and they're short enough to match her attention & stamina.
I'm so proud of my little reader! Do you have a beginner series your new reader loves? I'd love to hear about it!

Sweet Sisters
Oh how I hope my girls stay best friends their whole lives. I know there will be fights, bickering, yelling, stomping, probably some door slamming. But between those messy days, I hope we have plenty where they play well together, share secrets, uncontrollable giggling, problem solving, inside jokes, and general goofiness.
I love these girls so much & hope that their love for each other just keeps growing as time goes by.
