Are You Going to Eat That?

I've reached Week 16! I'm still feeling great, although I seem to be feeling a little more tired than I did earlier on. It's not enough to really change my daily routines, so I can't complain!!

Besides a growing belly, my #1 pregnancy symptom has been my appetite. I've always been a hearty eater, but this is different! Here are some of my favorite foods during the last 16 weeks...
Oranges - about 5 each week
Bologna sandwiches - about 12 in the last 2 weeks...
Bagel with cream cheese - at least 15 in the last 2 weeks...
Fried Pickles - OK, all kinds of pickles

In other news, my friend helped me find Baby's heartbeat with a borrowed doppler today! We had a hard time finding the little one at first, but were finally able to hear it! It's been 7 weeks since my last ultrasound and since I still can't feel Baby and s/he isn't causing me any trouble, I was starting to get anxious. My friend captured the sweet little swishing noise so I could share with Ben. We were both really excited and relieved to hear it! Ben ("The Human Metronome") estimates it to be about 135 beats per minute, which is right in the healthy range. I wish I had a more recent photo of "Cletus the Fetus," but this one will do!

For those of you trying to guess at home, old wives tales predict a boy if the heart rate is slower than 140 beats per minute. We really have no preference - just praying for a healthy baby! I find out the gender in 32 days (March 25) and have my next checkup next Tuesday (March 1).
