Yes, We're Positive!!

The rumors are true, believe what you hear, bird is the word, etc.... I'm pregnant!

I found out the good news the week after Thanksgiving, after visiting family in Illinois. Ben and I were immediately thrilled beyond belief, but decided to keep it secret until going back to IL for Christmas. Hardest secret EVER! After 3 long weeks of keeping it to ourselves, we told Ben's family at dinner the night we arrived in IL. The new grandparents, uncles, and great-grandparents were surprised and excited! We waited another 5 days to tell my family on Christmas day. Can you tell we're keeping a BIG secret at Midnight Mass?
Another set of new grandparents, 3 more uncles, and one aunt got a big Christmas Surprise.

I had to wait til the 8 week mark to see & hear Baby for the first time. The first ultrasounds found a very healthy heartbeat and a gummy bear-looking creature residing inside of me. It was an awesome experience! Meet "Cletus the Fetus" - - and no, we're not really naming the baby Cletus.
I had a very uneventful first trimester.  I've been able to eat whenever and whatever I want, no problems with any sickness, soreness, or exhaustion. Really, I've been relatively symptom-free! This kind of makes it hard to believe it's really happening! I've even been able to go to work every day and continue working out! After crossing into the 2nd trimester, I told everyone at work, and on Facebook, the good news. I figured it was about time everyone knew the real reason behind my growing silhouette.
(13 weeks, 02/01/2011)

My next appointment is March 1st (17 weeks) and I can't wait. Time seems to move so slowly when waiting to hear that everything is going well! After that, we're planning to find out if Baby is a boy or girl on March 25th. No, we don't have a preference. No, we don't have any names picked out. For now we're waiting and praying for more news that Baby is healthy.

Thank you for all of the congratulations, well wishes, thoughts, and prayers that have been sent our way thus far. We are delighted to know our friends and family are just as excited for us as we are!
