What Was That??

19 weeks, friends! Time is flying!!! Baby is about the size of a mango...

I'm just one more week away from my next ultrasound. I'm so excited/anxious! The idea of another human being living inside of me is really starting to settle in. I get these weekly updates telling me how big the baby is each week, how s/he is growing, what totally amazing things my body is doing to accommodate him/her, and yet I'm not receiving many signals from the baby!! I can't see baby, I can't touch baby, I can't smell baby, I can't hear baby, and I'm not even 100% convinced that I can feel baby moving! There have definitely been weird feelings in my belly, but I haven't had that definitive "kick" yet.

But so far, nothing that makes me yelp and go "ooh! there's a kick!!" I'm sure all you moms will tell me "enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts, even from within!"

I'm still feeling great! I have been very blessed so far with such an uneventful pregnancy. I woke up with a headache today... big whoop. It was gone by 8:00. I think it helps being so busy I can't think about every little burgle in my intestines, every little ache and cramp, I barely have time to worry about anything! On the other hand, I haven't had time to think about drinking water throughout the day (I'm a morning and night-time guzzler), plan/cook well-balanced meals, or get a good 8-9 hours of sleep every night. I eat lots of fruit, yogurt, grains for breakfast, usually have a fairly healthy lunch, but by the time I get home for dinner, Hot Pockets, canned soup, or cereal are all that I can seem to work up the energy to fix. Poor Ben - he's eaten far too many Hot Pockets and frozen pizzas.  I also vaguely remember asking him to put socks on my feet at 1:30 in the morning last week... :o)

We go next Friday for the 20-week anatomy scan. Prayers and well-wishes are welcome for the ultrasound to show a healthy and lively BOY or GIRL. Really no preference. I think we've got a name narrowed down for a boy, but we're still completely stumped for a girl. Please, if you have any ideas, send them my way! Hopefully I'll have a revealing ultrasound pic to post with my next belly shot!
