Natalie - 6 months old

I'm a little late updating about Natalie turning 6 Months Old, but late is better than never, right?

She's busy!
We just can't believe that it's been 6 months since Natalie joined our family. Half a year?! But that means we'll be celebrating her first birthday in just 6 months?! How can that be????

Natalie continues to grow and blossom, developing her own sweet personality. She is usually very calm, quiet, curious, and smiley. She can get grouchy when she's tired, or when she's had enough independent play & is ready for someone to hold her or play with her.

Talking to Grandma Val and Great-Grandma Marian at Thanksgiving
Natalie has started eating solid foods (purees) - she's had sweet potatoes, bananas, pears, squash, and spinach (mixed with pears). So far the only thing she hasn't enjoyed were the bananas. The solid food does seem to irritate her tummy a bit, so we're going slow with them. She only gets one serving each day, sometimes only every other day.

She is also becoming quite mobile - she rolled from her back to her tummy for the first time at 5.5 months, and mastered it in about 24 hours. She can now roll 2 or 3 times in a row with little effort. She is also starting to scoot across the floor on her tummy, just about army-crawling. She's pushing up onto her knees and starting to rock back and forth that way, too, so it's only a matter of time before she starts crawling. She is starting to sit on her own with just a little bit of support, and can even do it on her own for a few seconds at a time.

She has found her voice in the last week or two, too, and is starting to babble a lot more. She likes to make the Mmmmm sound, sometimes even saying "mah mah mah mah mah" and just recently, since my sister is visiting, "bah bah bah bah bah" - which sounds like Bob! She gives big giggles when tickled and still loves splashing Charlotte in the bathtub.

Natalie checked out just perfect at her well-child checkup on 12/20. She weighed 14 pounds, 5 oz (17th percentile) and was 26 inches long (55th percentile). We are so blessed to have two very sweet, healthy little girls. Natalie continues to amaze us with her perfect development since she was born early. We couldn't be more grateful for this sweet girl!
