McLean County Fair

We took the kids to the McLean County Fair this evening - - unbelievable that it's been an entire year since the last time we were there! Charlotte could see and hear the rides as soon as we parked the car (actually, from a distance - - she wanted us to park the car and get out at the red light on Market St in front of Farm & Fleet!), so that's what we did first. Natalie was too little for rides this year, so she had a snack in the stroller & watched Charlotte with Ben & me.

We even found our buddies Ian and Luke riding rides!! :o)

Charlotte's the one whose little feet don't even hang over the edge!

After she burned through all of her tickets, we went to check out the animals. Charlotte and Natalie loved seeing the rabbits, chickens, peacock, and turkeys! Charlotte got to pet some piglets, a lamb, a calf, and hold a baby duckling! Ben tried to show her how to milk a cow, but she was too worried about the display cow mooing at her that she barely took her hands off of her ears. :)

Charlotte's saying, "Here's a TIRE!" hahaha!

Natalie's trying to sneak a little taste of the play corn...

After a quick dinner of corn dogs & funnel cake, we made our way to the 4H exhibits. The girls liked seeing all of the arts, crafts, plants, flowers, cooking, and even insect displays!

Charlotte requested she get bricks painted on her face... :o)

I always loved going to the fair as a kid (a few times I was lucky enough to go on my birthday!) and I've really enjoyed taking my girls. The rides, the food, music, people-watching, farm animals, 4H exhibits - - what a fun way to spend a hot summer day!
