I had to remind myself of this parenting cliche several times today.
When Charlotte woke up at 6am (a full hour before her usual wake up time) to use the bathroom, and when I told her it wasn't time to get up and she wailed so loud it woke up Natalie.
When Natalie began grouching at 8am because she was already ready for a nap.
When the seatbelt was too tight.
When the windows were rolled down.
When I made them wear shoes.
When I ordered chocolate milk instead of apple juice.
When her friend didn't want to play in the sand.
When it was time to go home.
When I pushed the garage door button.
When the fruit snacks had the wrong cartoon character on them.
When I told her it was too warm for fleece pjs tonight.
I only drank coffee and wine today.
(Maybe part of my grumpy mood should be blamed on dehydration)
One of those days when I just can't wait for Daddy to get home.
But how is it almost October?? How am I worrying Natalie's costume won't fit in another 30 days? How is it time for Charlotte to get a whole new wardrobe because her pants are too short and her shirts are too snug?
Charlotte's not a baby?!
Natalie's not a baby?!
I hope tomorrow goes a little more smoothly. And slowly.
