Spelling Her Name!

Charlotte has learned how to spell her name this week! Her preschool class works on name study (recognizing their names in a group of written names, identifying the letters in their names, etc.) and she has been able to recognize her own name written down for over a year, but now she's able to spell it on her own. She is so proud of herself and we are so proud of her - it's a long name!! :o)


As if her spelling her name out loud didn't knock my socks off, last night we went outside to play in the driveway after dinner and she asked for some sidewalk chalk. I thought this was a little weird since it was just about dark and we could barely see the pavement. Turns out, Charlotte could see just fine and wrote her own name!! The C is backwards, but they're all there, in the right order, and without any prompting. Great job, baby girl!
